Dare to imagine

Time to escape your everyday life for a well-deserved break?

Close your eyes and imagine calm meadows, green countryside, revitalising waters, spa days, crisp Cornish air, golden sands, and big skies. You’ve just imagined Whalesborough Resort and Spa.

Situated in 450 acres of farmland running down to the dramatic North Cornish coast near Bude, Whalesborough is home to a range of award-winning accommodation. Here, sustainability lies at the heart of holidays for the 2025 Cornwall Tourism Awards Ethical, Responsible, and Sustainable Gold Award winner.

Discover luxury villas and lodges clad in wildflower roofs, cosy cottages, boutique barns, a 14th-century farmhouse and, from March 2025, a 21-bedroom eco apart-hotel. From couples to parties of up to ten guests, Whalesborough has something to tempt everyone. Celebrating the natural environment, mindfulness, and relaxation, Whalesborough is rooted in wild walks, family-friendly experiences, field-to-fork dining, spa treatments, and sandy fun-filled days out with four-legged friends. Here you’ll have access to the spa resort’s incredible facilities including its heated indoor hydrotherapy pool with a separate swim area for children. There’s also the swim-in spa, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and a state-of-the-art gym too. Outside, the heated suntrap pool provides that perfect place to doze or dip. Then there’s the padel court for tennis, or you could choose to take in miles of walks through fields and woodland down to the nearby Water Cove Beach.

On arrival, guests are greeted with warm smiles, information about the resort, its sustainable features, and all the exciting things that you can look forward to during your stay, including private surf and paddleboard lessons. Then there are those all-important touches such as fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables, bacon and honey from the farm, and a range of other Cornish goodies to try in your Whalesborough welcome hamper. There’s even a tail-wagging hamper if you travel with your faithful friend, plus pet blankets throws, and dog showers on site.

For foodies, you can order delicious pre-prepared meals for the fridge, or you can take in dramatic views of Whalesborough’s stunning lake dining at The Weir restaurant, café and bar. Serving coffee and cakes, breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Weir serves dishes that celebrate produce from Whalesborough’s land and the local area. This includes beef and lamb from the farm and fresh soft fruit, vegetables and herbs from Whalesborough’s very own market garden.

Rustled up by the resort’s talented team of chefs under the watchful eye of head chef Kai Taylor, guests can look forward to a culinary Cornish adventure. Having held numerous accolades including AA Rosettes, Michelin Bib Gourmands, and a Taste of the West gold, Kai is dedicated to Cornish cuisine.

Kai’s lunch menu includes dishes such as home cherrywood smoked salmon and brown crab, firebrand beer battered Cornish fish, Ruby Red steak, and Louisiana Brisket. Celebrating fresh seafood, street food dishes and “classic and unique” snacks, Kai’s menus change with the seasons.

And the food adventure doesn’t stop there. Whalesborough has its own on-site deli where every item has been sourced from within a 35-mile radius. This includes Whalesborough’s very own Forager Gin, which has been distilled and blended under the watchful eye of Kai, using only the finest botanicals harvested from Whalesborough’s organic farm.

If pampering is for you, the on-site W Club spa has three tranquil treatment rooms and a professional team who help guests relax and recuperate with a range of treatments featuring Cornwall’s celebrated Gaia essential oils and botanical extracts. Treatments range from salt and oil scrubs to deep tissue, hot stone, and Indian head massages. Accompanied by aromatherapy sessions, pedicures, manicures, facials, head, and body massages, Whalesborough is all about resetting and relaxation. With wellness evenings, GAIA-inspired spa days and weekends, there’s something for everyone.

For families with children, Whalesborough offers a wonderful balance, giving you space for yourself, and quality time with your kids. Serving up wild walks and so much to enjoy on the doorstep, Whalesborough is all about creating unforgettable experiences for you, and wonderful childhood memories for your little ones.

A particular highlight is Whalesborough’s Little Farmer’s Club. This gives children the chance to have fur and feather encounters with everything from pygmy goats and piglets to alpacas.  The team also plants over 9,000 sunflower seeds each year, which children can pick in late summer, and 22,000 pumpkin seeds which are ready to harvest in time for Halloween carving at half term.

Add the wonder of outdoor play areas – featuring climbing frames, swings, adventure playgrounds, and a well-equipped under 6’s playroom – and Whalesborough creates a world where little ones can enjoy an endless array of adventures and experiences.

Whether you’re relaxing together, building sandcastles on the sun-kissed sand of Whalesborough’s nearby beaches, or surfing and bodyboarding in the open ocean, Whalesborough has so much to offer. This includes its own fishing lake, and access to one of the country’s finest semi-natural tidal pools at Summerleaze Beach, Bude. Perfect for dips with the family at low tide, it’s just a towpath walk away from Whalesborough along the beguilingly beautiful Bude Canal.

More than just a place to stay, Whalesborough is also a place to own too. With luxury villas to choose from and new eco-lodges to buy – each with strong rental potential – you too can own your glorious corner of Cornwall. Located in an idyllic meadow setting with stunning countryside views, three limited-edition eco-villa holiday homes are available for purchase. Featuring green roofs with wildflower blankets, exposed timber cladding and traditional Cornish stone, these luxury single-storey villas wear their eco-credentials well. Each comes with a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, four luxurious bedrooms with ensuites, and floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto the private decking, garden and al-fresco dining areas.

Three secluded lodges are also available to buy, situated on the old tennis courts. Here, you’ll find a two-, three- and four-bed lodge set in an elevated position overlooking a chic Italian-themed courtyard. In 2025, these will be joined by a unique selection of new two, three, and four-bed eco-lodges; each individually dotted within a wild meadow setting at Tevi Field. Featuring air-sourced heat pumps, jacuzzi hot tubs, hand-built outdoor kitchens and cedar pergolas, these beautiful lodges – each sold fully furnished – embrace their natural environment setting, framed by wildflower roofs and gardens.

Inside, each lodge celebrates natural colours and textures, with ensuite bedrooms and spacious open-plan living, kitchen and dining areas. Elegance, comfort and relaxed living are the heartbeats of these beautifully finished turnkey holiday homes.

Accompanied by communal play and barbeque areas and natural foraging paths allowing guests to feast on foraged food, Whalesborough’s Tevi Field is all about making the most of the great outdoors. This even includes an amphitheatre with decking that reaches out over the on-site lake, creating a focal point for outdoor entertainment.

Complimented by wetland areas, wildlife habitat corridors and water swales that meander merrily through Tevi Field, Whalesborough puts the wild back into Cornish escapes.
